Is this the best pizza in the world?

Recently, Rachel Ray (ugh) commissioned two notable Pizza eaters, Adam Kuban and Ed Levine to whittle down a list of 64 great pizza experiences down to 1 winner.  Now, I may not have the pizza credentials that the aforementioned authors do, but as a New Yorker, I believe I have a valid opinion on everything.

I also happen to have eaten a ridiculous amount of Pizza in my time.  Last year, while on Jet Blue's AMAZING All You Can Jet trip, I took the pizza pilgrimage to Pizzeria Bianco.  I got to the restaurant at 230, eagerly anticipating a line for their 5pm opening (I'm insane, yes.  Also, it's in Phoenix.  Have you ever been?  Don't.  Unless you're going for pizza.) and thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic pizza experience.
I have one major problem with the article (why else would one write a blog post on something other than to bitch?): the exclusion of pizza from restaurants that serve food other than pizza.  The final picture posted here is from a restaurant in San Francisco that I ate at last summer called A16 that was fantastically balanced and better than 90% of the Neapolitan I've ever tasted.  Not even a contender.  Lame.

Also, what's up with 4 Neapolitan pies making the finals?

Kennedy line poised to continue - David Catanese - POLITICO.com

Kennedy line poised to continue - David Catanese - POLITICO.com

Notable only for the mention of Max Kennedy, whom I remember fondly from my time on the '08 campaign. Getting a somewhat frenzied phone call from my boss saying, "Ummm...soo...uhhhh...we have a rogue Kennedy. He apparently left Cleveland this morning and plans on stopping at every Obama office on his way to an event in Toledo tomorrow. GATHER VOLS NOW."

The Problem With Kirsten Gillibrand?

I don't get it.  I don't get what the problem that "down state" people have with Kirsten Gillibrand.  She's got a great voting record in the Senate so far (one of the more liberal).  She's YOUNG (at 43, she's the 2nd youngest Senator currently in office), speaks fluent Mandarin (what should be a HUGE NYC plus), and she's already got experience campaigning and SUCCEEDING in upstate NY (something a lot of NYC politicians hold their nose at the mere thought of).

Is Gov. Patterson's reverse-Midas touch to blame here?  Why are candidates like Harold Ford, Jr. and even Rep. Steve Israel even thinking about attempting to primary a solid D vote and possibly opening this race up to a solid Republican challenge (former Gov. George Pataki)?  Worst. Dems. Ever.

The Problem With Being a Dilettante...

And attempting to keep a blog is that nothing seems to hold my attention long enough, or rouse enough passion for me to post something.  Which isn't to say that I'm a DISpassionate person, but...well...*shrug*.

Working on it...

So I'm not promising anything (New Year's Resolutions almost never work), but I'm certainly going to attempt to put more content up here.  Keep me honest!
